Lacy's Song 07:01
I thought I had more time you drove me off the bridge we are not the same I'm just like you scared and alone I feel your rage but i know love I see your love you drove us off the road I still said I'm sorry you always had to go I still said I love you where did the time go? why did you leave me? alone alone - I'm here come find me I'm in a dark place I'll meet you at the crossroads you'll never be alone

about

This song is the last song that Lacy and I wrote together. The lyrics pictured on the cover were written by Lacy, reflecting upon the loss of their father who passed less than a week before they did. When I found out he passed I texted Lacy, and one of the first things they said to me was that they wanted to write a song about him and the relationship they had, and that they wanted the song to sound like Title Fight (lol).

Additional lyrics not pictured on the cover were contributed by Katie Osinski, based on a poem she wrote about a close companion she lost unexpectedly; and by me - words I said at the end of the speech I gave at Lacy’s funeral that were inspired by the song Crossroads by Bone Thugs n Harmony.

All 4 members of QUICKCLOT contributed vocals to this song: Brandon the first verse, George the refrain, George & David the second verse, me the bridge & David the breakdown at the end - It seemed like the only way for the four of us to honor our friend who had an immaculate voice was to all sing a little bit ourselves.

This song is meant to be a cathartic release. After Lacy died I stopped playing every song we wrote together, except for this one. Playing this song feels like a tether to Lacy in another dimension. When we play this song I can feel Lacy there with us in the room, rocking out. This was their song, these are their words, we just finished it when they couldn’t. Please enjoy & God bless.

Lacy forever 🫀
